Terms of Service
These terms explain how SharingBill may be used and what users remain responsible for when recording and settling shared expenses.
This page is provided for transparency for an early-stage MVP. It is not legal advice and may be updated as SharingBill evolves.
1. Service overview
SharingBill is a web application for creating shared expense books, inviting members, recording expenses, calculating balances, and displaying recommended settlement plans. It is operated as an early-stage personal project.
2. Accounts and access
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the activity performed through your account. Use accurate information when creating books, members, expenses, and settlements.
3. Expense books and member records
Shared books may include real members and placeholder members. You are responsible for confirming that member names, payer selections, participant splits, amounts, currencies, dates, and settlement records are correct before relying on them.
4. No payment processing
SharingBill records and calculates shared expenses only. It does not process, hold, transfer, or guarantee real money payments. Settlement recommendations are informational. Users remain responsible for making and confirming any real-world repayments outside the service.
5. Availability and changes
SharingBill may change, pause, or discontinue parts of the service as the product develops. Reasonable care is taken to keep the service available, but uninterrupted access is not guaranteed.
6. Responsible use
Do not use SharingBill to store unlawful content, harass others, misrepresent financial obligations, interfere with the service, or attempt to access books or accounts without permission.
7. Limitation of liability
SharingBill is provided as an MVP tool for organizing shared expenses. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for financial disputes, repayment failures, incorrect user entries, lost opportunities, or indirect losses arising from use of the service.
